Movie Night – Small is Beautiful

May 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Peninsula resident Joan Davidson and Amy Kalish, President of Wake Up California*, are hosting a screening of the film “Small is Beautiful” on Friday, May 15th, from 6:30 to 8pm, at Hesse Park.
All Palos Verdes residents are encouraged to attend!
The film is a compelling 25-minute documentary by an award-winning filmmaker about a rural Sonoma Valley community’s fight against a massive development that threatens wildlife corridors and the community’s way of life. It highlights how state housing mandates override local environmental controls and the potential catastrophic consequences of large-scale development in fire-prone landscapes.
The film offers lessons that can be applied to large developments proposed on the Peninsula.
See the  trailer at https://youtu.be/FEmx-hYybEg.
Following the film, Wake Up California will lead a discussion and Q&A with Peninsula elected officials on how to use existing (mandatory) minimum fire safe regulations to limit development in fire-prone landscapes.
See you on Friday, May 15th, at 6:30pm at Hesse Park!
