SUMMARY:RPV/EDCO Shredding Event
DESCRIPTION:The City of Rancho Palos Verdes and EDCO are sponsoring a FREE shredding event. Certified shredding trucks will be on-site during the event\, and all items will be shredded ON-SITE! Shredding is limited to three banker boxes (10” x 12” x 15”) per household. \nUnwanted electronics will also be collected\, including TVs\, computer monitors\, printers\, fax machines\, VCRs\, DVD players\, and answering machines. However\, no household hazardous waste (HHW) material (e.g.\, paint\, medicines\, and sharps) will be accepted. \nAlso available will be free compost for RPV residents (while supplies last). Mulch is a self-serve\, self-loading service\, so please bring your cans/bags and shovel − a limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle. If you plan to haul your compost in an open truck or trailer\, please remember to bring a tarp to cover your material. \nSaturday\, October 25\, 2025\n8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.\nRPV Civic Center (overflow parking lot)\, 30940 Hawthorne Blvd. \nThe event is for RPV residents only. Please bring proof of RPV residency. \nThere will be a special event-related temporary traffic control plan. Please follow all signs and drive carefully.

DESCRIPTION:The four cities of the Palos Verdes Peninsula are once again partnering to educate residents and the broader community on emergency preparedness at the Annual Prepared Peninsula Expo. \nSunday\, October 26\, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. \nPalos Verdes Peninsula High School \n27118 Silver Spur Road \nRolling Hills Estates (in partnership with the PV Farmers Market) \nJoin this year’s expo to learn how to mitigate\, prepare\, respond\, and recover\, should a disaster strike. This free event will teach you how to protect yourselves\, your family\, and your pets in a disaster. \nThis information-filled expo will provide a free lunch (while supplies last) and feature dozens of exhibitors\, demonstrations\, and equipment displays.
