SUMMARY:Free Paper Shredding\, Electronic Waste Collection\, and Compost Giveaway Event!
DESCRIPTION:The City of Rancho Palos Verdes and EDCO are sponsoring a FREE shredding event. Certified shredding trucks will be on-site during the event\, and all items will be shredded ON-SITE! Shredding is limited to three banker boxes (10” x 12” x 15”) per household. \nUnwanted electronics will also be collected\, including TVs\, computer monitors\, printers\, fax machines\, VCRs\, DVD players\, and answering machines. However\, no household hazardous waste (HHW) material (e.g.\, paint\, medicines\, and sharps) will be accepted. \nAlso available will be free compost for RPV residents (while supplies last). Mulch is a self-serve\, self-loading service\, so please bring your cans/bags and shovel − a limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle. If you plan to haul your compost in an open truck or trailer\, please remember to bring a tarp to cover your material. \nSaturday\, May 9\, 2026\n8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.\nRPV Civic Center (overflow parking lot)\, 30940 Hawthorne Blvd. \nThe event is for RPV residents only. Please bring proof of RPV residency. \nThere will be a special event-related temporary traffic control plan. Please follow all signs and drive carefully.
